Summit Quassussuaq
The backcountry of Nuuk is a special place to go, as you can leave the big city life and within 15 minutes feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by mountains and lakes, the hike up to Quassussuaq is really soothing.
As we get higher and higher, we will be able to see more and more of the deep fiord to the east and the big ocean to the west, making it look vaster and vaster for every step we take. On the summit of Quassussuaq (430m) we will find a good spot to sit and enjoy a hot drink and some snacks – and of course with a view to remember!
In winter time we will wear snowshoes for the hike.
A minimum of 3 and max. 8 persons is required to do the trip. (Bigger or smaller groups can be arranged on request).
Included: (Snowshoe rental in winter), local products, snacks, coffee & tea.
Practical info:
We will hike together from the end of Uiffak street at 11.00, and return to the same spot at 16.00. Bring your own water bottle, which you can fill at the fresh rivers of the mountains (except when frozen in wintertime). It’s a good idea to bring something wind or waterproof for the summit – and warm clothes for the winter trips.
